Picked up the window from Lowes. It looks pretty good, but first thing I noticed is how much less glass there is. I lost 2.5" of glass width due to the vinyl frame. If I had known that, I may have gone for a wooden frame.
After removing the sashes, the opening was perfectly straight and level. Popped in the window, added some shims and caulk, and the window is in!
